South Africa Advances Critical Minerals, Exploration Investment and Energy Transition Priorities at Resourcing Tomorrow 2025
London, United Kingdom – 1–4 December 2025:
South Africa will participate in Resourcing Tomorrow 2025 to position the country as a committed, competitive partner in the global critical minerals and energy transition ecosystem. The delegation is led by the Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Ms Phumzile Mgcina, who serves as the primary government messenger.
The Deputy Minister will engage with investors, policymakers and industry leaders across the conference programme, including the Government Roundtable on Critical Minerals at the London Stock Exchange and a series of bilateral investment meetings.
South Africa’s participation will highlight four priority areas:
- Critical Minerals and Metals Strategy – positioning South Africa as a regional hub for responsible development, beneficiation and supply of minerals essential for global clean energy transitions.
- Junior Mining Exploration Fund (JMEF) – showcasing the Fund as a catalyst for unlocking early-stage exploration and rebuilding the junior mining sector.
- G20 Critical Minerals Framework – advancing South Africa’s support for a fair, transparent and sustainable global critical minerals market.
- Regulatory and Licensing Reform – reaffirming ongoing efforts to improve permitting timelines and restore investor confidence.
Brand South Africa spokesperson, Jimmy Ranamane, says South Africa enters the conference with a clear message:
“Our mineral endowment, infrastructure and commitment to responsible mining position us as a strategic partner in the global critical minerals value chain. Through regulatory reforms, the JMEF and our Critical Minerals Strategy, we are strengthening investment confidence and driving sustainable growth.”
South Africa’s presence at Resourcing Tomorrow reinforces its commitment to supporting global decarbonisation goals, strengthening mineral supply chains and partnering with investors on long-term, future-focused mining and energy projects.
